Email deliverability refers to the frequency on which outgoing emails land in the primary folder of the recipient inbox, it can also be called "inbox placement". An inbox with low deliverability will see it's sent emails land in spam.

Email deliverability can be affected by:

  • The content of the email
  • The reputation/history of the sender
  • The sending domain/IP
  • The authentication protocols used (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, etc.)

Email deliverability is important as it affects the efficiency of outreach campaigns. As emails that land in spam is not read, low deliverability means a low open rate and low engagement rate.
